Last October 19, 2019 St. John the Baptist High School celebrated the Month of the Holy Rosary by conducting a Living Rosary held in the campus quadrangle.
At exactly three in the afternoon after the last exam, the students, faculty and staffs of SJBHS prepared for the ceremony. Each year level has assigned shirt color to represent the different continents .The event started with a Doxology dance, by the selected Grade 7 students. Followed by a procession around the school campus, led by St.John the Baptist Parish and St.Joseph the Worker Parish Altar Servers. There were also students from Grade 8 who dressed as Angels.
The Holy Rosary started, the beads of the Rosary was represented by a student holding a candle. The human beads actively participated in the activity even though the sun was very hot that day. It ended with a community song entitled “O, Maria Rayna”. After that, the students together with their advisers proceeded to their respective classrooms to pop the balloons containing encouragements, quotes, and Bible verses. The activity does not only encouraged students but also taught them to the Blessed Virgin Mary’s Holy Rosary.
“Praying the Holy Rosary everyday serves as a powerful tool for world peace. It help us to focus our minds on prayer, the Blessed Virgin Mary promised that our sins can be forgiven if we pray the Holy Rosary. It also help us to build a strong relationship with Mama Mary and its son, Jesus Christ.”, a statement from S.Ma.Margaret Animah Opuko, RVM explaining the importance of praying the Rosary.
Truly, the celebration of the Month of the Holy Rosary is a remarkable one.
